Iran's interior minister has said a security cooperation agreement signed by Iran and Kyrgyzstan will become operational once the parliament (Majlis) has given its approval.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's interior minister, Abdol Reza Rahmani Fazli added the security cooperation agreement was signed on Saturday in his meeting with the Kyrgyz interior minister, Jounosh Aliyev.

Speaking to reporters and journalists in Mashhad International Airport, Iranian interior minister said a commercial and business agreement has also been signed between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The agreement was signed on Saturday in a meeting between Rahmani Fazli and Uzar Beik Zhilekibayov, the governor of Oush province in Kyrgyzstan. 

According to Rahmani Fazli, 300 commodities and items will be exported by Iran to EAEU countries and in return, 500 commodities and items will be imported into Iran from Eurasia.

Rahmani Fazli welcomed the agreement saying this is a great regional capacity and it is good for Iran's business and economy.

In further remarks, the interior minister said in his meeting with the Kyrgyz prime minister, a range of issues were discussed including banking cooperation, establishing regular flights between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, construction of a rail link between the two countries, and the setting up of a joint Iran-Kyrgyz economic commission.
