Iran Press/ Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran press news agency correspondent, Mahdi Safarinia who is also the head of Pardis technology park, added, Islamic republic of Iran tries to share it's scientific capacities to Islamic countries and community and this action leads to expand Iran's power and strength in technology and information fields.
Head of the Mustafa science and technology foundation underlined the benefits of Mustafa prize in expading technology and science fields in Iran and said, Mustafa prize is a scientific award granted to scientists biennially.
He also said, the Mustafa foundation’s activity was launched in Tehran and we have no formal political relations with any country. We have only scientific interactions and we hardly try to interact with scientists throughout the world. Ultimately, we have no cooperation or development regarding politics,” president of MSTF continued.
The prize will be awarded in four categories, namely “Life Science and Medical Sciences", “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”, “Information and Communication Science and Technologies” and “Top Scientific Achievement in other fields.”
Mustafa Prize, the Iranian version of Nobel Peace Prize, was launched in 2013 with the mission to promote science and technology in the Islamic world.
The Mustafa foundation seeks to encourage education and research and is set to play the pioneering role in developing regional relations between science and technology institutions working in the OIC member countries.
In 2015, the first round of the prize was held in Tehran and professors Jackie Y. Ying and Omar M. Yaghi, were the two winners of the 2015 Mustafa Prize.
The Policy Making Council of the prize, which is tasked with supervising various procedures of the event, is comprised of high-profile universities and academic centers of Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states or OIC.
The prize will be granted to the works which are deemed to have improved the human life and have made tangible and cutting-edge innovations on the boundaries of science or have presented new scientific methodology.
