Sana'a (IP) - Thousands of Yemenis came to the streets and stage protests in Sana'a to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran in Europe.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iranpress, on Monday evening, Yemenis took part in demonstrations condemning the burning of Qurans in Sweden and Denmark with the Quran in their hands and chanted the slogan "Death to Israel".
In this demonstration, the Yemenis demanded the implementation of Sweden's political and commercial embargo policy.
The Yemeni demonstrators also emphasized on taking effective measures to condemn the crime of Quran burning and hold accountable Sweden and other countries that insult the Holy Quran.
Ahmad Hamed, the head of the office of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, in an interview with Iranpress correspondent in Sana'a, emphasized that the people of Yemen took a firm stand in response to the desecration of the Quran and imposed a political and commercial embargo on Sweden.
"Hamdi Ziyad", one of the cultural leaders of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, also told Iranpress correspondent during the demonstration condemning Holy Quran burning in Sana'a, that the large presence of the Yemeni people in this demonstration has a clear message and the Yemenis imposed an economic boycott on Sweden.
This Yemeni cultural activist stated that the voice of the Yemeni people is always loud in defending Holy Quran and they do not tolerate insulting Islamic sanctities and get angry.
The Yemenis formed a single procession in the demonstration against the burning of the Quran in Sweden, and in this demonstration, they held the Holy Quran in their hands and raised it as a sign of respect and dignity of Islam.
