Iran's Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs, Massoumeh Ebtekar, speaking on Friday at the Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), said: "Many observers believe that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the symbol of negotiations. The United States has not stood by the nuclear agreement but Iran has".
She added: "Many international organizations stand by JCPOA because they know the significance of the agreement".
A landmark nuclear deal was inked between Iran and six major powers in mid-July 2015 in exchange for restricting certain aspects of Iran's civilian nuclear programme.
US President Donald Trump will decide on 12 May whether to extend waivers of economic sanctions on Iran, a US commitment under the nuclear agreement.
