Caracas (IP) – The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela has publicly expressed its support for the recent missile strikes by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Israel, citing Iran’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

Iran Press/West Asia: According to a statement by the Venezuelan government believes that Iran's military action was a direct response to "threats and crimes against humanity" committed by the Netanyahu administration, including violations of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian sovereignty, as well as the killing of innocent civilians and political and military leaders.

Venezuela condemned the paralysis of the United Nations Security Council, which it attributed to the U.S.'s use of its veto power in a way that "complicitly supports" Israel. This, the statement argued, has rendered the council ineffective in stopping Israel's aggressions and upholding international law, which Venezuela called the greatest threat to global security.

The Venezuelan government further emphasized the urgent need to halt any escalation of hostilities initiated by Israel across the region and stressed the importance of holding Israel accountable for the war crimes it has committed.

In a broader appeal, Venezuela called on the international community to act swiftly to restore the rule of law, end the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian and Lebanese people, and curb the "unrestrained competition" between Israel and the United States for dominance in West Asia. According to Venezuela, only through collective international action can the region and the world achieve lasting peace and stability.
