Tashkent (IP): Uzbekistan’s President has congratulated his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi and the Iranian people on the outset of the holy month of Ramadan.

Iran Press/Asia: In his congratulatory message on Tuesday, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed certainty that the two countries would continue with their joint efforts to ensure the progress of their nations.   

Referring to years-long high exchanges of delegations between the two countries, he said that the multifaceted relations between Iran and Uzbekistan are based on long-standing friendship and the principles of mutual respect and benefit.

Earlier on March 6, 2024, During the meeting of Iran and Uzbekistan high-ranking officials in Tehran, the two countries advanced transport and transit ties by forming a joint transport committee, drafting a transit roadmap, and a comprehensive transport MoU between the two countries.

Furthermore, Previously in June 2023, Iran and Uzbekistan transport ministers signed a comprehensive transport and transit MoU in the presence of Presidents. 204
