Iran Press/ West Asia: Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a televised speech on Sunday: While our naval forces were carrying out their duties in the Red Sea, US forces attacked 3 of our boats, causing 10 service members to be martyred or missing.
The Yemeni armed forces spokesman said that the US will bear the consequences of this crime and its repercussions, adding that these martyrs are for the sake of Palestine.
General Saree added: The Yemeni forces will not hesitate to confront any aggression against our country and our people.
He noted: The Yemeni naval forces succeeded in targeting a container ship that was heading to occupied Palestine after it refused to respond to our calls.
The Yemeni armed forces spokesman concluded: American actions in the Red Sea to protect Israeli ships will not prevent Yemen from performing its duty.
Four vessels from Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen fired upon the Maersk Hangzhou and got within meters of the ship, the US military said.
Helicopters from nearby US warships responded to a distress call and sank three boats.
The crews were killed and the fourth boat fled the area.
