Iraq (IP) - Jabbar Audah, one of the leaders of the coordination committee of Shi'a political groups in Iraq, known as the "Coordination Framework," said that since the beginning of this year, the US has increased the theft of Syrian oil through Iraqi territory by 20%.

Iran PressMiddle East: With the defeat of the ISIS terrorist outfit, the American forces directly replaced this terrorist group and started extracting and looting Syrian oil from the exact same time instead of ISIS.

Audah added: "American forces stationed in six regions on the Syrian border have become gangs that steal Syrian oil by tanker to Iraq and then sell it to brokers in Türkiye and other countries."

He also emphasized the necessity of preventing the entry of any tankers carrying smuggled oil from Syria into Iraqi territory and said: "90% of the revenues from oil theft are deposited into the coffers of extremist groups, which Iraq will not be safe from."

The leader of the "Coordination Framework" committee stated: "American forces are overseeing the biggest oil theft operation in West Asia and for this purpose they use military convoys to secure tankers carrying stolen oil."

Meanwhile, the Syrian government recently announced that the American forces and its mercenaries, who are occupying eastern Syria, are stealing about 66 thousand barrels of oil production from this region (3.80 thousand barrels per day).

The Syrian government has repeatedly emphasized that the American occupation forces in the east and north-east of Syria have no other purpose than looting oil and their presence is illegal.
