US should not waste time: Iran's UN envoy

Vienna (IP) - The US has so far failed to honor the US presidential campaign promise to rejoin the JCPOA, Iran's UN envoy says, urging Washington not to waste the time.

Iran PressAmerica: "Iran & P4+1 resuming nuclear talks in Vienna today. The US has so far failed to honor the US presidential campaign promise to rejoin the JCPOA," Majid Takht-Ravanchi wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.

"So this opportunity shouldn't be wasted. If the US lifts all sanctions, Iran will then cease all remedial measures. Can be a win-win situation for all," he added.

Meanwhile, representatives of Iran and the other remaining signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal have sat down for a new round of talks in Vienna over a possible return of the United States to the agreement that it abandoned some three years ago.
