US must be tried in ICC for sanctions against Iranian nation on Corona crisis

Tehran (IP) - A Lebanese college professor of Politics and International Relations said the world must apologize to the Iranian nation over the US sanctions against Iran amid the global corona crisis.

Iran PressMiddle East:  In a note in the Lebanese newspaper ‘Al-Bana’ on Friday, Jamal Zahran noted that the US must be tried in the International Criminal Court due to its sanctions against the Iranian nation in the corona outbreak.  

He said due to the pandemic nature of the virus and its spread in almost all over the world, the priority of all countries, including Iran, is to fight the epidemic.

The college professor lashed out at the US and European Union over their crimes against Iran, stressing that the US President is accountable for anybody who dies due to the virus in Iran.

He urged all the world's people to press the US and European rulers and all countries participating in sanctions against Iran and its nation and called for an immediate lifting of the sanctions.

Jamal Zahran also praised China and Russia for working to support Iran to help its people, adding that the world would apologize to the Iranian nation, which is facing the Coronavirus outbreak and the ongoing cruel sanctions.

Head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health  Kianoush Jahanpour on Friday announced that so far, 53,183 people in the country have definitely been infected with the Coronavirus, 3,294 people have died due to the virus and 17,935 have recovered and discharged.

In late December 2019, Chinese authorities notified WHO about an outbreak of previously unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan, central China. On March 11, WHO officially characterized the situation with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as a pandemic.

Globally, more than 1,034,000 people have tested positive and more than 54,465 have died from COVID-19.
