IP- The US military has confirmed that it carried out a missile attack on a radar site in Yemen at 03:45 am local time [00:45 GMT] on Saturday morning.

Iran Press/ West Asia: US Central Command [CENTCOM], which is responsible for US forces in the Middle East, said Tomahawk missiles were fired from the US Navy’s US Carney at the radar site.

In a post on social media, CENTCOM described the attack as a “follow-on action” from the joint US-UK missile barrages late on Thursday night, which the US said had targeted Yemen's army sites.

Yemen's officials are reporting that several people were killed on the first night of attacks. It is unknown, as yet, if there were casualties from the attack earlier tonight.

The US Defense Department has also said that its first night of attacks on Yemen – late on Thursday – involved more than 150 munitions fired from US and UK “maritime and air platforms” that targeted more than 16 locations controlled by Houthi forces.

Yemen's army has said they will continue to target Israeli-linked vessels, and ships traveling to or from Israeli ports in the Red Sea in an act of solidarity with Palestinians amid Israel’s war on Gaza.
