Iran Press/America: At a UN meeting on Yemen, UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and representatives of other countries condemned the US act to blacklist Ansarullah and calling the movement a terrorist organization.
Meanwhile, the United States rejected a request from the United Nations to back down this blacklisting.
Condemning the US move, Griffiths said at the meeting: "Calling Ansarullah a terrorist group will thwart all efforts to establish peace and tranquility between the parties involved."
He also said the move should be overturned because of "human rights violations".
Also, in this regard, Russian envoy Vasily Nebenzia said: "Washington's policy to enlist Ansarullah as a terrorist group is exacerbating the humanitarian crisis,"
Earlier, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the US has notified Congress of its decision to enlist Ansarullah in the foreign terrorist organizations.
Pompeo's remarks met with widespread reactions from Yemenis and non-Yemeni countries, figures and groups.
The US decision to declare the Ansarullah movement a terrorist group is being made while Yemen is the poorest Arab country that has been entangled with a humanitarian crisis made by aggressors.
Saudi Arabia with the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia has launched a military invasion of Yemen in March 2015 and since then imposed a land, sea, and air blockade on innocent Yemeni people.
The military aggression has so far resulted in nothing but the killing and wounding of tens of thousands of Yemenis, as well as the displacement of millions of citizens, the destruction of infrastructure, famine and the spread of infectious diseases in the country. 219
