The US House of Representatives approved a bill to sanction the International Criminal Court (ICC) due to issuing the warrant to arrest some of the Israeli regime's authorities, including Benjamin Netanyahu.

Iran PressAmerica: To become a law, the resolution has been sent to the Senate and, should be approved by the chamber and then signed by the President.

The Head of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US House of Representatives Brian Must who proposed the bill, says that in case the bill is approved, anyone who subjects American citizens or citizens of the allied governments, including Israeli officials, NATO members, Japan, and Taiwan, to investigation, detention, confinement, or prosecution will be sanctioned.

Also, by virtue of the law, officials of the ICC and their family members will be denied visas to enter the US, and those already in the country, their visas are revoked and will be deported. In addition, those who provide material, financial, or technical support to the ICC will be included in the US sanctions.

The American representatives approved the bill as the ICC issued warrants to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former War Minister Yoav Gallant due to their key role in the continuation of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gazan people.

The court ruling was welcomed by many countries. Even European countries allied with Israel announced that they would comply with the ruling; Josep Borrell, the European Union's Chief of Foreign Policy, said that it was not a political decision and everyone must respect it.

Yet, the EU governments cannot decide whether to execute the arrest warrant issued by the ICC or not.

However, the ruling faced a strong reaction from Washington. The US officials, who have always been in favor of the Israeli policies and have financially and militarily assisted the regime in killing Palestinians, especially in the war on Gaza, opposed it from the very beginning of the ruling and announced that they would not implement the ruling but oppose it.

The US representatives approved the bill as the Israeli regime continued the war on Gaza and killed people regardless of the calls of the international bodies.

The Israeli regime has massacred over 46,000 people since October 7, 2023. The war on Gaza continues as winter has arrived and the conditions have become much harder for Palestinian women and children. Cases of frostbite and infant deaths have been reported in Gaza within the past two weeks.

In fact, the authorities continue to prioritize support for the Israeli regime while Washington itself is currently facing severe economic, political, and social tensions. Jim McGovern, a Republican representative congressman, criticized the prioritization amidst the forest blaze in California.

Rashida Tlaib, the Congresswoman, also addresses the priority in a critical post on her X:

"What’s their top priority the first week of the new Congress? Lowering costs? Addressing the housing crisis? No, it's sanctioning the International Criminal Court to protect genocidal maniac Netanyahu so he can continue the genocide in Gaza."

Despite all these crimes, the US and its allies continue to support the Israeli regime, to the point where they have now even sanctioned and threatened the International Criminal Court.
