Iran Press/Europe: The US after one year from its withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action dubbed as JCPOA, without mentioning Iran's right to reduce its obligations under the nuclear agreement 2015 because of non-compliance by the other signatories, criticized Iran's continued enrichment, demanding that Iran return to its commitments.
The US envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, speaking Thursday at the seasonal meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, US envoy Jackie Wolcott sought to accuse Iran of failing to fulfill its obligations under the nuclear agreement 2015 known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Without referring to Iran's right under paragraphs 26 and 36 of JCPOA to reduce its obligations if the other parties fail to fulfill their commitments, Wolcott urged the international community to unanimously insist on the need for Iran to return.
Ignoring the IAEA's repeated reports of Iran's adherence to its commitments and the transparency of Iran's nuclear program, Wolcott accused the Islamic Republic of having a history of secrecy and deception about its nuclear activities, and in line with the US Iran phobia policy, saying that it should be assured that Iran does not deviate from the IAEA's verification efforts.
On 8th May 2018, the US unilaterally pulled out of the multilateral international nuclear deal and re-imposed tough sanctions on Iran; no longer as UN sanctions but as US maximum-pressure sanctions.
Iran took the fourth step in reducing its commitments including the injection of uranium hexafluoride gas (UF6) into Fordow's centrifuges, pouring concrete for a new reactor at the Bushehr power plant and operating 60 IR-6 advanced centrifuges.205
