US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has announced the formation of a coalition to patrol the Red Sea in response to Yemen's army attacks on commercial shipping.

Iran PressAmerica: The coalition includes Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Seychelles, Spain, and the UK.

The United States formed this coalition to counter attacks by the Yemeni army on ships moving towards Israel.

The Yemeni army has announced that in retaliation for the Israeli army's attacks on Gaza and the killing of Palestinians, it will not allow the passage of ships destined for the occupied territories.

Israel started its military aggression against Gaza on October 7 following an operation by the territory's resistance groups, dubbed Operation al-Aqsa Storm. At least 19,453 Gazans, most of them women and children, have been killed in Israel's strikes so far.

The UN Security Council (UNSC) is expected to vote on a new resolution on Tuesday after the use of the term “cessation of hostilities” emerged as a sticking point. 219
