Iran Press/ West Asia: The US and UK have carried out additional strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, marking the eighth round of attacks by the US military in the past 10 days, CNN reported, citing a joint statement. In the latest development, the countries attacked the rebels' infrastructure on Monday and struck eight sites, as per a joint statement from the US and UK.
The United States and the United Kingdom launched airstrikes on Yemen following the resolution of the United Nations Security Council.
France did not sign a statement of support for the US and UK air strikes on Yemen after it said it would not take part in bombing raids to protect Red Sea shipping.
These aggressions against Yemen were carried out after the Yemeni army targeted ships bound for the occupied territories in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait in the past weeks in support of the resistance of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Yemen's Ansarallah said their attacks aim to pressure Israel to halt its deadly war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed at least 24,000 victims since an Oct. 7 cross-border offensive by the Palestinian group, Hamas. About 1,200 were killed in Hamas' attack and hundreds more were taken back to Gaza as hostages.
