Iran Press/ America: A UN Security Council meeting that was convened on Sunday in the wake of the Iranian attack on Israeli military installations concluded without a statement or resolution being issued.
The meeting, which was held at the request of the Zionist regime to discuss Iran's recent actions, disappointed the regime as it was certainly hoping there would be condemnation [of Iran’s attacks] but there was not a statement from the Security Council.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres called to prevent further escalation, stressing that the principle of inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises and personnel must be respected in all cases in accordance with international law while condemning the 1 April attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
It is noteworthy that after the April 1 Israeli attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, Russia and Algeria, and other Security Council members, also asked for a statement of condemnation and that did not happen either, mostly blocked by the United States, France and the UK.
Analysts say the ball now is in Israel’s court because Iran has said they consider this matter over at this point.
