Iran Press/America: Msuya expressed grave concern, stating, "The daily cruelty in Gaza appears to know no bounds," and highlighted the severe nature of the actions she considers indicative of the most extreme international crimes. She described recent Israeli actions in northern Gaza as an “intensified, accelerated version of last year’s horrific events.”
In her remarks to the UN Security Council on Tuesday evening, Msuya described Gaza as "a devastated land filled with rubble," adding that Palestinian civilians have been forced from their homes, left to witness family members being killed, burned, or even buried alive.
In a recent report, the UN issued a stark warning of a looming famine in Gaza, highlighting the potential for a humanitarian crisis on an unprecedented scale. The UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday focused heavily on the worsening food scarcity in Gaza. Adding to the concern, the charity Oxfam reported that Israel has been “using hunger as a weapon of war” by repeatedly blocking essential aid from entering Gaza.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres’s spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, noted that October saw the lowest level of humanitarian aid reaching Gaza. Meanwhile, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that, since Israeli attacks began on October 7, 2023, over 43,665 Palestinians have been killed, with an additional 103,076 injured.
The worsening conditions in Gaza and the alarming death toll highlight the escalating humanitarian crisis, with UN officials and international charities calling for urgent action to address the mounting needs of the civilian population in the region.
