Iran Press/ Commentary: After having consultations with the Head of Yemen's Supreme Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Wednesday, Hans Grundberg told reporters at Sana'a international airport that his talks were delightful during the two-day visit to Yemen.
Any agreement to end the war on Yemen must be based on securing the interests of the Yemenis, ending the violence, and guaranteeing the security of the Yemeni people, Grundberg stressed.
He put emphasis on the dialogue and the political will of the engaging side for the settlement of peace and stated that the UN would support the Yemenis to reach a peace agreement.
Al-Mashat had earlier told the UN representative in Sana'a that the US and the UK were hindering the peace between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
He noted that the US and the UK dispatched a representative to the region to neutralize efforts to bring Yemen and Saudi Arabia closer together with the aim of solving the crisis.
The Head of Yemen's Supreme Council warned the US and Britain over the consequences of failure in the realization of the peace process and noted that the two states must accept the consequences.
The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, in the form of a coalition of several Arab countries, including the UAE, and with the help and green light of the United States and the support of the Zionist regime, launched massive attacks against Yemen - the poorest Arab country since March 2015.
