UN's Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs emphasized the need to ensure aid and protection for desperate civilians being continually displaced inside the war-battered enclave.

 Iran PressAmerica: Rosemary DiCarlo in a meeting with 15 members of the Security Council, referring to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, stated that Israeli military operations continue throughout Gaza and the number of casualties and displaced persons is increasing tragically.

DiCarlo added that Israel must fulfill its obligations under international law to protect civilians and ensure their safety, and the perpetrators of violence must be held accountable.
She meanwhile renewed urgent appeals for the unconditional release of all hostages in Gaza and emphasized that as long as the hostages are kept, they should be treated humanely under international legal obligations and be allowed to visit and receive assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, since the beginning of the Gaza war on October 7, 2023, the number of martyrs in this region has reached more than 40 thousand, and the number of wounded has reached more than 94 thousand, of which 33 percent are children, 8.6 percent 18.4% are elderly and 18.4% are women.
