Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday, Stéphane Dujarric, pointed out that northern Gaza has been under a strict blockade imposed by the Israeli regime for nearly a month, leading to a sharp decline in the residents’ conditions. He stressed that people are dying from hunger while the world merely watches, calling for an end to these atrocities.
In addition, Dujarric reported that in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, nearly 1,000 Palestinian homes have been destroyed this year, displacing over 1,100 people, with 40% of them from East Jerusalem.
On October 5th, the Israeli regime launched a massive bombing campaign in northern Gaza before invading the area, claiming it was to prevent Hamas from regaining strength. However, Palestinians argue that the real aim is to force-displacement and seize control of the region.
Israel also imposed a stringent blockade on Gaza, preventing movement in and out, with only limited access through checkpoints. These actions have led to the collapse of Gaza’s health system and the suspension of emergency services by the Palestinian Red Crescent.
