Chabahar (IP) - The deputy commander of the Iranian Navy commented on the details of the second day of the joint military exercises and talked about two Iranian naval capabilities that surprised both the Chinese and the Russians.

Iran Press/Iran News: The deputy commander of the Iranian Navy, Director General of the Iranian Naval Operations, Second Rear Admiral Gholamreaza Tahani in an exclusive interview with Iran Press said: "At our meeting with the Russians and the Chinese yesterday, they were very surprised for two reasons, one because of the documents we submitted them to investigate and then tell their point of view."

"They believed that these documents were highly professional. Another point was the close cooperation between the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy and the Iranian Navy, which one participant commenting that this kind and level of cooperation was unexpected, has surprised the world," he added.

Rear Admiral Tahani went on to say: "They said how Iran, after 40 years of cruel sanctions, had reached this level of maritime technology that hosted two naval powers, and also plays a pivotal role in providing security for maritime trade in the northern Indian Ocean."

"When the two powers decide to cooperate with Iran on naval matters, it, first of all, indicates the level of strategic relations has reached a significant point, and secondly, that Iran's power is at a level where the powers tend to use its maritime knowledge," he added.

"One of the goals of this exercise is to exchange experiences in the fields of security, maritime rescue and counter-piracy, and counter-terrorism operations, and these countries have tended to utilize our experiences in this field," Tahani said.

"Iran is ready to establish security in international waters in cooperation with regional countries" he underscored.

Naval forces of Iran, Russia, and China started a large-scale maritime exercise in the northern part of the Indian Ocean and the Sea of Oman on Friday 27th December.
