After Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) gained control in Syria and Israel increased attacks on Syrian Army infrastructure, the Turkish Army launched a major offensive against the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Kurdish region.

Iran Press/West Asia: On the latest development on Saturday, the Turkish Army launched a drone attack targeted US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) near the Al-Istiqama gas station on the outskirts of the city of Tell Brak, northeast of the city of Hasakah in eastern Syria.

On Friday, Turkish-backed forces SNA (Syrian National Army) supported by the Turkish Army targeted Qorqozak Bridge in eastern Aleppo with barrages of artillery shelling.

Tuwaziya, Sakiro, Om Baramil, and Huwaija Villages in eastern Ain Eissa in Al-Raqqa countryside, were the scene of heavy clashes of Turkish forces and their factions on SDF forces.

Deir Hafer village in the eastern Aleppo countryside also was the center of heavy exchange of fire. Local news outlets in Syria say at least 5 Turkish-backed forces were killed.

According to the war monitoring group 'SOHR', Turkish forces fired rockets at the surrounding areas of the Teshreen dam in the Manbij countryside in eastern Aleppo. 

In the political arena tensions between Turkey and the US over Kurdish Forces intensified after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called that "SDF terrorist organizations" in Syria will no longer find support or collaborators.

Erdogan emphasized Türkiye’s readiness to support Syria’s new leadership in combating terrorist organizations to establish a safe and stable Syria.

Ankara earlier rejected the US-proposed ceasefire between Turkey and SDF.
