Trump lies to justify his irrational acts

Gradual disclosure of Trump's administration over Ain Al-Assad base's casualties is a clear indication of his constant practice of lying and providing false information in order to justify his irrational actions.

Iran Presscommentary: On Wednesday, January 8, Iran launched missile strikes on the US base of Ain al-Assad in al-Anbar province, Iraq, in response to the US brutal assassination of the late Commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qasem Soleimani and his companions in Baghdad.

Although US President Donald Trump claimed the attack had no casualties, the extent of Trump's lies is becoming clearer and the Pentagon is gradually confessing that more US troops have been injured.

The US media is releasing information on the wounded number the Iranian missile attack on US base Ain Al-Assad left, and the trend is likely to continue.

CNN announced in a report that 64 US troops have been diagnosed with traumatic brain injuries due to the Iranian missile attack on the US military base Ain Al-Assad.

Citing Pentagon officials, the US media had previously reported the number of US troops wounded in the Iranian missile attack on Ain al-Assad 50, 34, 16 and 8, respectively.

Mark Esper defends Trump

In spite of the Trump administration's scandal, the US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper continued to defend Donald Trump's comments on downplaying the Iranian attack.

Esper said, despite some news of a gradual increase in Iranian missile attack casualties, Trump did know the number of troops injured in the attack.

Mike Esper's sayings contradict Donald Trump's explicit assertion that all US troops are in good health.

The US Secretary of Defense claimed that there was no intention behind downplaying the dimensions of the devastations the US troops suffered in Ain al-Assad and delaying the release of the relevant news.

Speaking Thursday at a Pentagon press conference defending Trump's claim that the military staff casualties at Ain Al-Assad base were not serious and only caused a headache, Esper said Trump is deeply concerned about their conditions.

From the very beginning, the US senior officials pursued a policy of secrecy and censorship of information about the consequences of the attack on Ain al-Assad.

Moments after the attack, Donald Trump claimed on his twitter account "All is well!"; however, it was clear that Trump fell into a panic since he was on the verge of the US 2020 presidential elections and what made his administration worried was the coffins' return with televised full coverage.

Trump deliberately attempted to deny US casualties in the Iranian missiles attack to maintain America's prestige which was first attacked by armed forces of another country after World War II.

Also, he tried to downplay the consequences of the attack to escape encountering Iran.

The controversial US president is well aware that any military confrontation with Iran is followed by deleterious consequences for Washington and its regional allies.

Nonetheless, the gradual disclosure of the number of wounded US troops in Iran's missile attack on Ain Al-Assad base is a major point of weakness for Trump in his 2020 US presidential campaign, on one hand, and is a clear indication of his constant practice of lying and providing false information to justify his irrational actions, on the other.
