Nigeria (IP): At least 72 people, mostly children, have died in Nigeria due to stampedes during food distribution events across the country.

On Wednesday, approximately 40 children lost their lives in a stampede during a children's funfair in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in the Southwest region.

Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky expressed his condolences to the families, relatives, and friends of the victims, and he prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the tragedy.
