Muharram rituals

Karachi (IP)-With the arrival of Muharram, the followers of Imam Hussain (A.S) organize water, juice and food stalls on the roads and streets, all over the world.

Iran Press/Asia:  In Karachi, these sabil stalls are not only organised on the Muharram procession routes but also on the common highways where travelers and citizens on the way stop to drink water and quench their thirst. These sabils stalls are organised in the memory of the thirst of Imam Hussain (A.S), his family and companions when water was cut off from the cruel Yazidi army. Such sables are prepared across the country, ice blocks are placed to keep water and drinks cool. These sabil camps are organised by local Shia, Sunni and even by non Muslim communities and kept open from morning to late night so that not only Imam Hussain (A.S) mourners but also any traveler can quench their thirst in harsh weather and remember the thirst of Imam Hussain (A.S) and his beloved family and companions. 203
