Iran Press/Iran news: The 3-day festival of 'Nowruz culture in Shiraz' kicked off on 6 Mar 2019, with the approach of Nowruz's literature, culture, and food Tourism and will end in the historic and ancient city of Persepolis ('Takht-e Jamshid' or 'Parseh') remains of an ancient citadel in Fars Province.
In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Amir Hossein Hekmat-Niya the executive manager of 'Nowruz culture in ancient Pars' festival said on the sidelines of the festival that Nowruz stories of the people of Fars province may attract tourists to this region -- tourists who are interested in 'literature'.
According to Hekmat-Niya, the second day of the event was about local and traditional food as 'Food of Nowruz' for promoting food tourism.
The third and last day of the festival will be held in 'Takht-e Jamshid' as the 'footstep of Phoenix' event, Hekmat-Niya added.
Nowruz which literally means 'new day' is the name of the Iranian New Year's Day also known as the Persian New Year which is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups.
Nowruz has been celebrated by diverse communities. It has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, and the Balkans. It is a holiday in many different countries of this region, that is enjoyed by people of several different faiths.
