Iran Press/West Asia: Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday pledged to eradicate terrorism in Syria.
"Terrorism only understands the language of force, and that is the language which we will break it and eliminate it with, whoever its supporters and sponsors are," the Syrian President said on Sunday during a phone call with the Badra Gunba, Acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia, SANA reported.
President Assad referred to the terrorist group 'Hayat Tahrir al-Sham' (HTS) or former al-Qaeda terrorist group in Syria with the name Al-Nusra Front with a link to the ISIS terrorist group and said: These groups do not represent the Syrian people or state institutions but rather serve the interests of their foreign backers.
He underscored Syria's determination to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity, pledging to continue operations against the terrorists and those who support them in collaboration with allied forces.
