A terrorist attack on a military base in the northwest of Pakistan left eight soldiers of the Pakistani army dead.

Pakistan Army Public Relations announced in a statement on Tuesday that attackers clashed with the security forces by exploding a car bomb and shooting in Bannu military barracks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state in northwestern Pakistan.

According to this statement, in this terrorist attack, eight soldiers and 10 terrorists were killed.

The incident began when a suicide bomber detonated explosives-laden vehicles and insurgents opened fire near the outer wall of the barricaded garrison.

The Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a longtime ally in Pakistan of the Afghan Taliban, has been blamed for a surge in violence in the region over the past year.
