Tehran (IP)- The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed Iran's hope that Sweden would take serious action to compensate for its mistakes.

 

Iran PressIran news: During his weekly news conference, Nasser Kanaani addressed the verdict regarding Hamid Nouri and stated that the Islamic Republic had expected the Swedish government to act responsibly in the appeals court to rectify its previous mistakes, which unfortunately did not occur.

Kanaani further emphasized that the unjust sentence does not signify the end of Iran's diplomatic efforts to secure the return and release of the Iranian citizen.He assured that Iran would utilize all available resources to achieve this goal.

Additionally, he highlighted their objection to the decision and criticized the treatment and disregard for basic rights during Nouri's lengthy detention in Swedish prisons.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted a contradiction in Sweden's behavior and statements throughout this process.

Regarding the US accusations against Iran and its role in recent developments in the Red Sea,he said: "The US’s accusations are endless; the main criminal in Gaza war is the US government."

 

Ending Gaza war, first priority

Referring to the necessity of stopping the war in Gaza as the first priority, Kanaani stated: "The first priority regarding the current situation in Gaza is to end the war crimes; dealing with secondary issues is ineffective especially what is raised by the US ; they talk about post-war issues."

Iran, Republic of Azerbaijan negotiations positive

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan relations noted: "Negotiations took place and the process has been positive so far and many issues have been resolved."
