Iran Press/ Iran News: Mohammad Farjoud, head of the Tehran Municipality ICT Organization, held talks with Michael Donaldson, a member of the Technology Innovation and Electronic Management Commission of the Barcelona City Council.
Introducing Smart Tehran Center and Secretariat and a series of activities carried out in order to make Tehran smart, Farjoud said: "The capital's urban management has been trying since its beginning to turn face-to-face services into digital services. The use of the "My Tehran" service and application, which now serves about 3 million users, has been one of the main measures and steps in this regard."
Emphasizing data analysis used to make better decisions in dealing with a variety of crises, and noting the acceleration of online services after the Corona outbreak, the Iranian official highlighted other measurements taken by Tehran Municipality like encouraging online shopping and urban emergencies during the outbreak.
Farjoud stressed the importance of supporting the urban innovation ecosystem and start-ups and pointed to the special steps by the Tehran Municipality to facilitate the establishment of knowledge-based businesses during the coronavirus outbreak.
Donaldson for his part at the video conference highlighted the role of digital technology to combat and contain coronavirus and social and economic problems mainly widespread unemployment during a post-coronavirus outbreak, stressing a new era of digital technology-based urban management has been commenced based on the failed and successful measure taken to combat coronavirus.
He added the coronavirus crisis has brought all people, organizations, and managers to focus more on technology.
