The Ministry of Defense of Türkiye announced on Saturday night that 4 ships carrying agricultural products left the ports of Ukraine, adding that the transportation of grain from the ports of Ukraine is proceeding according to the plan.

Iran PressAsia: The agreement on grain export from Ukraine was signed on July 22 by the representatives of Ukraine, Russia, Türkiye, and the United Nations in Istanbul.

According to this agreement, the control of the ports of "Odesa", "Chernomorsk" and "Yugeny" which will be the terminal of grain export lies in the hands of the Ukrainian side.

In addition, no ships other than those carrying food products and fertilizers will be allowed to enter these ports.

Four more ships have left Ukrainian ports under the landmark Istanbul grain export deal, Türkiye's National Defence Ministry said.

Saturday's statement, which did not disclose the point of origin of the ships, said shipments from Ukrainian ports have continued as planned.

A day earlier, nine ships had departed Ukraine ports. 

The three Ukrainian Black Sea ports had been blocked after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February.

Russia and Ukraine supply almost a third of the world's wheat, while Russia is the main exporter of chemical fertilizers and Ukraine is the world's largest exporter of corn and sunflower oil. 219
