Baghdad (IP) - In a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani stressed that the ongoing developments in Syria are interconnected with the events in Lebanon and Gaza, and their objective is to destabilize the security and stability of the region.

Iran Press/West Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Iraq's Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and developments in Syria, continuing his meetings in Baghdad.

In a statement about the meeting, the Iraqi Prime Minister's Office announced that the Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the importance of respecting Syria's territorial integrity.

The statement quoted Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani as saying that Baghdad's official stance on Syria remains consistent, emphasizing Syria's unity and its security and stability.

Al-Sudani also stressed Iraq's ongoing serious diplomatic efforts to manage the Syrian crisis, considering its impact on Iraq's security.

Prior to this meeting, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran's head of diplomacy, met with his Syrian counterpart, Bassam Sabbagh, and subsequently participated in the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq, and Syria.
