Syrian President sent separate messages to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and President Ebrahim Raisi on Thursday, extending his condolences over the martyrdom of dozens of people in terrorist attacks in Kerman on Wednesday.

In his messages, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also extended his condolences to the people of Iran and wished recovery for those injured in the attacks, SANA news agency reported.

He underlined that such terrorist acts are aimed at making “our people abandon their principles and national interests, and making them unable to defend their country’s sovereignty and dignity.”

Beirut-based Al Mayadeen news network also said that the Syrian president condemned the Kerman attacks and said that such terror incidents, which target civilians, show the extent of the desperation of terrorists and their supporters. 219
