Iran Press/ Middle East: In a message to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Friday evening, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad noted, "The martyrdom of a number of resistance leaders and Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, over the brutal and treacherous aggression of the United States, has saddened our hearts."
He pointed to the role of martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani in restoring peace to Syria and made the remark, "The standing of Martyred General alongside the Syrian people and army in the fight against terrorism and his great contributions to the victories that have been achieved on Syrian soil against the terrorist organizations will last forever in the conscience of the Syrian people."
The martyrdom of these generals, who dedicated their lives to serving the ideals of resistance and defending the right and dignity of nations, will illuminate the path of all who accompanied them along this path, the Syrian President said.
The Syrian president highlighted, "The martyrdom of Lieutenant general Soleimani and his companions encourages the conscience of future generations of honorable resistance wherever they may be to end policies such as US policies that violate the rights of nations and the sovereignty of nations.
At the end, he declared, "In my name and in the name of the Syrian Arab people, I express my full solidarity with the friendly nation of Iran and express my most sincere condolences to the families of these martyrs and I pray to God to grant these martyrs the mercy."
