Tehran (IP)- A high-ranking Syrian political and economic delegation is heading to Tehran on Sunday.

Iran PressIran news: Iran and Syria cooperate strategically, with Tehran supporting the legitimate Syrian government during its crisis. Two countries' efforts in combating terrorist groups prove Tehran's support for Bashar al-Assad.

The relationship between Tehran and Damascus has grown and diversified since the defeat of the ISIS terrorist group. There are clear opportunities for further development of ties between the two countries in various fields.

The Syrian delegation, consisting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, and the Minister of Communications and Technology, will review the agreements between their country and Iran during President Ebrahim Raisi's trip to Damascus.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Damascus on May 3, 2023, and was welcomed by the President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad.

During Raisi's visit to Damascus, the presidents of Iran and Syria signed a comprehensive program of strategic and long-term cooperation between their nations. Additionally, ministers from both countries signed eight memorandums of understanding in agriculture, natural resources, railways, maritime certificates, aviation, free zones, oil, earthquakes, communication, and technology.
