The Head of Iraq's National Wisdom Movement said all, including governments and people, are responsible for standing against the tools and practices that open ways to violence against women.

Iran Press/West Asia: Delivering a speech at the 16th annual meeting of "Islamic Day for Opposing Violence against Women", Ammar al-Hakim stressed that the fight against the cultural and intellectual promotion of misogyny is a responsibility of all and is not limited to administrative and legislative actions.

Ammar al-Hakim pointed to the issues ongoing in the region and said: "These days, the campaigns of violence, torture, displacement and starvation of civilians in Palestine, including children, women and men, in a hard war that has violated all red lines, principles and laws, and the sovereignty of other countries and international charters is still going on."

He emphasized the focus on the Israeli regime's killing of the Palestinians' children and women and usurping their lands as a human mission and called on the whole world to cry against the Israeli regime's crimes and stop them.

The "Islamic Day for Opposing Violence against Women" meeting is held every year at the beginning of Safar month on the occasion of the arrival anniversary of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) family, who were taken captives by Yazid I some 1,400 years ago, to Syria after Karbala event.

The meeting is held at the office of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement in Baghdad, with the presence of Iraqi officials and guests from Islamic countries.
