In a letter to the Head of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Iran's Parliament Speaker called for the conformity of the international community and fundamental stances for the immediate cancellation of all of the US sanction against the Iranian nation, including medical sanctions.

Iran Press/Iran news: In his letter to Gabriela Cuevas Barron, Ali Larijani expressed regret over the US sanctions against Iran and described the US acts including medicines and medical equipment sanctions against Iran as a barrier on the way of controlling Covid-19.

Larijani highlighted the need for national, regional and international efforts to mobilize all the technical and logistical capabilities to assist countries infected with the virus, stressing the need for urgent, effective and public action to contain the dangerous coronavirus.

"It is regrettable that, in such critical circumstances the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is at the forefront of fighting the virus to reduce the human sufferings created by the disease's outbreak, has been systematically exposed to the unilateral direct and indirect inhumane sanctions of the US," he asserted.

He remarked that the US approach is in violation of the UN and the World Health Organization's (WHO) charters, and not only has seriously hindered Iran in helping its suffering people and controlling Covid-19, but also has left destructive effect on all national, regional, and international efforts to control the virus.
