Tehran (IP)- Some 477 people were involved in the firefighting efforts in the Crocus City Hall music venue, a source in the press service of the Moscow Region’s Emergencies Ministry told TASS.

Iran Press/Europe: "A total of 477 people and 183 units of equipment are involved [in the firefighting efforts], including 192 people and 79 units of equipment from the Russian Emergencies Ministry," the press service said.

A terrorist attack was carried out at the Crocus City Hall music venue in the city of Krasnogorsk near Moscow on Friday evening. Unidentified gunmen armed with assault rifles went on a shooting spree. An explosion rocked the building, starting a fire. The special services are conducting a search operation. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin canceled all mass events in the capital in the next two days, and several other Russian regions followed suit.

Beijing is deeply shocked by a terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall outside Moscow and expresses firm support for Russia’s efforts to ensure security, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.

"I was shocked by the news of a serious terrorist attack on a concert hall in the Moscow Region, which resulted in a large number of casualties," China Central Television quoted Xi as saying in a message of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin. "China firmly supports the Russian government’s efforts to maintain national security and stability," he added.

"On behalf of the Chinese government and people, I would like to express deep condolences for the victims and extend sympathies to the injured and the families of those killed," the Chinese president said.

Xi emphasized that Beijing opposed terrorism in all its manifestations and strongly condemned terrorist attacks.In a message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran also condemned the bloody and brutal terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall music venue in the city of Krasnogorsk in the Moscow Region.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, while expressing his condolences to the victims' families, expressed his condolences to Sergey Lavrov the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Government and Nation of Russia.

Amir-Abdollahian said: A joint and effective fight against terrorism requires serious and non-discriminatory action by the international community.
