Tehran(IP): A distinguished professor of Persian literature said in a speech at the 4th International Nowruz Diplomacy Conference that Iran has hundreds and thousands of symbols, each of which represents a part of Iran's culture, character and history, but Nowruz can be considered as a measuring criterion for Iranian culture.

Iran Press/Iran News: Jalaleddin Kazzazi said: "Nowruz is more complex, multilayered and multifaceted to be regarded as a celebration like other celebrations. Iran has been the land of many celebrations. At least in the cultures that I know, no culture can be found that is linked to celebration and rituals of happiness as much as Iranian culture."

Kazzazi added: "You can consider Nowruz as a measuring criterion for Iranian culture. Be sure that wherever there is an address, manifestation or function of Nowruz in the world, Iranian culture has reached there. These variations that Nowruz have found in a long time have benefited Nowruz, in the same way, they have given Iranian culture more depth and power."

The 4th International Nowruz Diplomacy conference was held in Tehran on Saturday with the participation of representatives from 21 countries.

In addition to the senior diplomats and foreign representatives, a group of cultural activists also attended the conference.
