Iran Press/ Middle East: The Saudi aggressors pirated 14 oil ships and 3 food ships going to Yemen to supply the Yemeni people's needs, an official source in Hodeidah port reported to Al-Massirah. According to the source, the 14 oil derivative ships contained more than 320 thousand tons on board.
The Yemen Petroleum Company announced, Wednesday, the Saudi regime is still holding 12 oil ships loaded with petroleum products a few miles from the port of Hodeidah, noting that the first detention period is 37 days.
Fuel is needed for transportation, shortages have caused fuel prices to spike up to 200 percent in some areas, making the transportation of life-saving aid to communities-in-need more expensive.
Hodeidah a lifeline for millions of Yemenis, has seen some of the heaviest fightings in the four-year Saudi aggression against the impoverished nation.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched the Hodeidah offensive in June 2018, but they have faced strong resistance put up by Yemeni armed forces – led by the Houthis -- and the city’s residents.
Meanwhile, after a UN call to halt the hostilities amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Saudi-UAE coalition has claimed a ceasefire in the war against Yemen that has killed more than 100,000 people and pushed millions to the verge of famine.
The war has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories. The UN says over 24 million Yemenis are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including 10 million suffering from extreme levels of hunger.
Blockade and shortage of food and medicine are other elements for the death of Yemeni civilians.
But on Thursday, Yemen's Ministry of Human Rights in a statement said that the aggression’s targeting of the quarantine centers is aimed at obstructing and hindering the precautionary measures carried out by the National Salvation Government for the citizens, providing possible health protection to prevent the entry of the coronavirus into the country.
Yemen's Higher Committee for Combating Epidemics said in a statement that aerial aggression launched a raid near the quarantine center at Al-Mahjabah School in Afar of Al-Baidha province and another raid near the quarantine of locomotive drivers’ area near Afar.
