Saudi Arabia has reopened its embassy and resumed diplomatic activities in the Afghan capital Kabul City.

Iran Press/West Asia: "Based on the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide all services to the brotherly Afghan people, it has been decided to resume its diplomatic activities in Kabul from Dec. 22," Bakhtar added, citing a statement of the Saudi Arabia embassy in Kabul.

Following the fall of the Afghan Republic government in August 2021, numerous foreign embassies closed in Kabul, halting formal representation in the country.

Saudi Arabia’s embassy staff also left Kabul on February 5, 2023, citing “security concerns.”
