Tehran (IP) - Sanctions have no meaning for Tehran and Damascus, and the two countries will continue their economic cooperation with more motivation, the Special Assistant to the Speaker of Iran's Parliament for International Affairs said.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the sidelines of the commemoration ceremony of Ramadan Abdollah, the Special Aide to the Speaker of Iran's Parliament in International Affairs, Hossein Amirabdollahian in an exclusive interview with Iran Press elaborated on the recent sanctions that were imposed on Syria as well as the level of cooperation between two countries.

Referring to the “Caesar Act”, he said that the US has tried to collapse the political system in Syria with various military and security methods since 2011, but they did not succeed.

Today, they have resorted to the “Caesar Act” and have focused on political sanctions against Syria out of their desperation, he added.

As the Islamic Republic of Iran has shown previously, it can avoid sanctions in Venezuela, which is near to the US geographically, it can also avoid sanctions between Iran and Syria, and counts them meaningless, the official concluded.
