Iran Press/ Iran News: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu will meet Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces General Staff. The two commanders will discuss defense cooperation, bilateral ties, and common threats, including international terrorism.
During the visit, the Russian Defense Minister will also meet with other senior commanders of the Iranian Armed Forces.
According to Tass, the Russian defense chief will also meet with several members of the Iranian armed forces command, including his counterpart Mohammad-Reza Ashtiani.
The parties are expected to discuss the situation in the region and defense relations between the two countries.
On June 28, Tass news agency said that Chief of the Iranian General Staff Mohammad Bagheri had a phone call inviting Shoigu to visit Iran.
