Iran Press/ Europe: The final statement of the sixth round of strategic talks between the foreign ministers of Russia and member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) contained interventionist comments about the Iranian islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb.
The issue followed the strong reaction of Iran's MFA, such that Tehran summoned the Russian envoy to communicate its protest to such a position.
During his meeting with the Iranian ambassador Kazem Jalali on Friday, Mikhail Bogdanov referred to the recent statement and stressed the firm position of his country about the respect for Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two sides discussed various topics, including the status quo of bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation.
