Russian National Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu met with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian on Wednesday and stressed Moscow's firm policy on the Zangezur corridor.

Iran Press/Europe: Sergey Shoigu in a meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in St. Petersburg, said: "Moscow is committed to previous agreements with Tehran regarding Zangezur and Russian policy has not changed in this regard."

The Secretary of the National Security Council of Russia added: "Moscow supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the three Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf."

Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, also emphasized the readiness of Tehran to increase cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic field with Moscow.
