Iran Press/ Iran news: Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke over the phone on Saturday to discuss the latest developments in Palestine.
Referring to the unprecedented increase in the crimes of the Israeli regime in martyring Palestinian women and children, while creating a deplorable humanitarian situation by cutting off water and electricity and blocking the entry of food and medicine to Gaza, Iran's President stressed the necessity of adopting a decisive, unified and clear position of Islamic countries in support of the oppressed people of Palestine.
The Qatari emir, in turn, said the ongoing developments in Gaza bear witness to the Western countries' double-standard and scandalous policies, saying the regional states and Muslim countries can, through unity, stop the Israeli war machine.
Raisi noted that the support of Western countries, especially the United States, to Israel, was a green light for this regime to commit these crimes. He added: "Today, more than ever, the Palestinian nation needs the effective and serious support of the world and especially the unity of the Islamic countries in order to end the Zionist regime's war machine in committing crimes and genocide in Gaza.
At least 7,326 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli attacks, while the death toll in Israel stands at more than 1,400.
Gaza's 2.3 million residents are grappling with shortages of food, water, and medicine due to Israel’s massive air bombardment and total blockade of the enclave.
UN General Assembly late Friday approved a resolution calling for a humanitarian truce, but Israel's Foreign Minister Eli Cohen called it “despicable” and rejected it. 219
