Tehran (IP) - Iran's President attended the inauguration of a great road construction project in Tehran namely 'Tehran-Shomal Freeway', calling it the symbol of the Iranian nation's self-esteem.

Iran PressIran News: The second section of the Tehran-Shomal Freeway was inaugurated with the presence of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the Minister of Road and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash. 

President Raisi said that the project could save people's time and cost and plays a significant role in reducing road accidents. 

The construction project includes the creation of 9 bridges and 17 tunnels 19.7 kilometers long. With the project being opened, 12.5 million liters of gas are saved annually.

The reduction of air pollutants by 511 tons per year as well as the less exhaustion of vehicles are other features of the commutation route.
