Iran Press/ America: Ebrahim Raisi was meeting his Kazak counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the headquarters of the United Nations on Tuesday, New York local time.
President Raisi considered the neighborhood of Iran and Kazakhstan through the Caspian Sea and membership in the Shanghai Organization as a suitable platform for the development of relations between the two countries.
Raisi said: "Increasing the exchange of goods, both by sea and by rail, is in the interest of both nations and countries in the region, and more effective steps should be taken to accelerate the realization of the goal."
For his part, the President of Kazakhstan considered Iran a strategic partner and a close friend of Kazakhstan, referring to the extensive capacities of the two countries.
Tokayev welcomed the increase in the exchange of goods between the two countries. He pointed to Iran's very suitable transit capacity and expressed his country's interest in accelerating the implementation of agreements between the two countries.
Heading a high-level political delegation, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on Monday to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly.
