Iran Press/Iran news: Talking to reporters and journalists on Sunday, Rahmani Fazli highlighted the role of IRIB in countering foreign media outlets who are trying to destroy our culture and beliefs, saying IRIB has a duty to broadcast cultural and ethical films and to promote Islamic culture and lifestyle.
The interior minister said there are many positive aspects to internet and cyberspace, for example it can be used as a tool to educate the general public, to increase your general knowledge, the internet is indispensable for research in science and technology, it can assist us in performing many tasks and all of that is very positive.
But the internet has negative aspects too which we must watch out for. It can be used for cultural assault on a nation, and it can be used to spread vice and immorality.
Rahmani Fazli added: "We must watch out for cultural assault via the internet and for unethical and immoral internet content."
Turning to the issue of women's Hijab, Rahmani Fazli said Hijab should not be turned into a political issue.
Interior Minister also stressed that cyberspace and the internet can and should be used to promote Islamic Hijab and the Islamic dress code.
Speaking at the hundred twenty-third press conference held at the interior ministry headquarters in Tehran on Sunday, 15 September 2019, Rahmani-Fazli stressed that Hijab is an important social and ethical issue but we must bear in mind not to make it into a political issue.
He said the full capacity of cyberspace should be used to advertise the positive aspects of Hijab but we must also be aware of the negative aspects of cyberspace.
In further remarks, Rahmani Fazli said: "Public awareness and support are a must in society. There should be coordination between organizations and institutions active in this regard."
